![]() ![]() The electronic states distributed along the zigzag edges have been revealed after a silicon-layer intercalation at the interface of NBN-8-ZGNR and Au (111). ![]() Chemical-bond-resolved non-contact atomic force microscopy (nc-AFM) imaging confirms the zigzag-terminated edges and the existence of NBN dopants. Here, we report the successful synthesis of ZGNR with a width of eight carbon zigzag lines and nitrogen-boron-nitrogen (NBN) motifs decorated along the zigzag edges (NBN-8-ZGNR) on Au (111) surface, which starts from a specially designed U-shaped monomer with preinstalled NBN units at the zigzag edge. The electronic structure of ZGNRs can be effectively tuned by different widths or dopants, which requires delicately designed monomers. Zigzag graphene nanoribbons (ZGNRs) with spin-polarized edge states have potential applications in carbon-based spintronics. On-surface synthesis and edge states of NBN-doped zigzag graphene nanoribbons In addition, the working principle of these hybrid nanographene-organic structured heterojunction phototransistor memory devices is described which provides new insight into the design of high-performance organic phototransistor devices. These findings demonstrate the high application potential of nanographenes in the field of optoelectronics. The device exhibits both good photosensitivity (3.6 × 10 5) and memory properties including long retention time (>1.5 × 10 5 s), large hysteresis (45.35 V), and high endurance for voltage-erasing and light-programming. Exposure to low intensity light (25.7 µW cm −2) for 1 s yields a memory window of 35 V, and the threshold voltage shift is found to be larger than 140 V under continuous light illumination. Here, a nanographene-based heterojunction phototransistor memory with large ∆ V th responses is reported. However, it is still a challenge to achieve a big memory window (threshold voltage response ∆ V th) for phototransistors. Organic phototransistors can enable many important applications such as nonvolatile memory, artificial synapses, and photodetectors in next-generation optical communication and wearable electronics. Nanographene-Based Heterojunctions for High-Performance Organic Phototransistor Memory Devices The study of the dielectric properties as a function of PANa content enables to determine a Debye relaxation regime for the COF/PANa blend with a maximum relaxation frequency of 15 Hz for the pristine COF and the COF/PANa blend, respectively, at their maximum operating temperatures. The humidity-dependent X-ray diffraction study reveals a strengthening of the stacking interaction along the COF (100) plane direction with increasing humidity, through the formation of H-bonding, thus promoting proton hopping. ![]() Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigations after activation at high temperature and relative humidity (RH) provide insights into the role of PANa, whose presence is key to preserve high σ at low RH. Here, a simple strategy is presented to improve the performance of poor COF-based proton conductors through addition of sodium polyacrylate (PANa) superadsorbent polymer. Although covalent organic frameworks (COFs) do not usually exhibit high intrinsic proton conductivity (σ), they have been recently proposed as solid polymer electrolytes in PEMFCs, thanks to their high crystallinity and stability to acids and bases. In this context, proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are gaining ever-increasing attention as clean technology. The scarcity of fossil fuels calls for immediate action toward the development of clean and renewable energy resources. The Role of Superadsorbent Polymers on Covalent Organic Frameworks-Based Solid Electrolytes: Investigation of the Ionic Conductivity and Relaxation We derive the electron–phonon coupling within a non-orthogonal tight-binding framework and apply them to graphene as a test case. It interfaces with phonopy for vibrational modes and dftb+ to calculate transport properties. Herein, we present a new method based on the DFTB approach for computing electron–phonon couplings and relaxation times. Semi-empirical methods, like density functional tight binding (DFTB), provide a framework for obtaining quantitative results at moderate computational costs. The calculation of the electron–phonon coupling from first principles is computationally very challenging and remains mostly out of reach for systems with a large number of atoms. 7 society/special/themed/topical collections/issues/volumesĭFTBephy: A DFTB-based approach for electron–phonon coupling calculations.14 hot/special/very important papers/topics.Note the correlation between the surface tension of a liquid and the strength of the intermolecular forces: the stronger the intermolecular forces, the higher the surface tension. ![]()

Also, keep in mind h265 is really just an advanced extension to the h264 encoding method, just made much more complex.īigger blocking artifacts caused by huge CTU sizes, excessive blur (sao), banding (aq-mode=3 and using the 10-bit encoder can hep), thin banding/halo (manipulate psy options to counter this). If you frequently rip DVDs, Handbrake must be one of the standard tools you might have been using. I'd just do some testing before encoding 200 episodes worth of content. It absolutely works if you know what to look out for. I often recommend people using H.264 simply because it's a much more straight forward codec originally designed for HD contents, whereas H.265 had FHD/4K+ HDR as the main design goal. Using the slow preset is also pretty much a must for better motion estimation in SD contents since you don't have the pixel count to mask artifacts. A crf=20 4K encode may look great due to the sheer amount of pixels masking imperfections, but that will be amplified in low-res content, especially with x265. Also, my general rule is that for every increase/decrease of resolution tiers (SD/HD/FHD/4K), you need to increase/decrease crf by 2 to compensate. You CAN easily tune x265 to work well with low-res content, but it requires some experience with advanced options. Would RF20 10bit HEVC be a bad idea for DVD? We're talking about 201 episodes, like 100+ hours worth of SD content including the movies. 1) Am I being dumb with this? My 10 rips are all being encoded as HEVC 10bit. I only have 1TB more free, and I know storage is cheap, but I'd rather just compress more, and I know HEVC is very efficient in doing just that. My question is, if I leave the RF the same, am I going to lose more quality than the h264, or does it really just come down to initial processing time. I KNOW it will take extra time to encode these rips, but it will save space. Some of it has already been encoded with h264 rf 20, but I have h265 hardware decoding on both the server and client, so I figured, why not encode them with hevc as well. I have every episode of the office ripped from makemkv taking a ton of space up. The blue line of Burberry is among the most successful in this arena. According to data from 2006, Japan consumed 41 percent of the entire world's luxury goods. Japan is also known for its significant consumption of foreign luxury brands. Firstly, the comparatively large quantity of disposable income available to Japanese youth is significant many argue this has been, historically, made possible through a greater degree of Japanese youth living at home with their parents for much longer than in other countries, reducing living expenses and thus making larger spending on clothing possible. The social motives driving interaction with and involvement in personal fashion choices and wider fashion movements within Japan are complex. Together they were particularly recognized as a Japanese fashion force in the early 1980s for their intensive use of monochrome color and cutting-edge design. Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Comme des Garçons are often said to be the three cornerstone brands of Japanese fashion. Fashion industry and popular brands Ĭomme des Garçons garments on display at the Metropolitan Museum of ArtĪlthough Japanese street fashion is known for its mix-match of different styles and genres, and there is no single sought-after brand that can consistently appeal to all fashion groups, the huge demand created by the fashion-conscious population is fed and supported by Japan's vibrant fashion industry. Though extremely popular in the 1990s and early 2000s, many trends experienced a levelling off in the later 2000s and onwards the rise and fall of many of these trends had been chronicled by Shoichi Aoki since 1997 in the fashion magazine Fruits, which was a notable magazine for the promotion of street fashion in Japan. The popularity of the music was so influential that Tokyo's youth imitated their favorite hip hop stars from the way they dress with oversized clothes to tanned skin. In 2003, Japanese hip-hop, which had long been present among underground Tokyo's club scene, influenced the mainstream fashion industry. These factors result in the swift turnover and variability in styles popular at any one time. The rise of consumerism, which played an important part in Japan's "national character" during its economic boom in the 1980s, continues to influence fashion purchases, even after this economic bubble burst in the 1990s. ![]() In addition, the emergence of strong youth culture in the 1960s and 1970s that continues today (especially in Harajuku, a district in Shibuya, Tokyo) drives much of the development of new styles, looks, and fashion subcultures. Created from a mix of both local and foreign fashion brands, Japanese street fashions tend to have their own distinctive style, with some considered to be extreme and avant-garde, with similarities to the haute couture styles seen on European catwalks.Īs early as the 1950s, there were a few brands specially catered to street fashion, such as Onitsuka Tiger (now known as the ASICS).
